About
So what do we know about BTG? It was started as far back as 2011 by a very experienced manager Nik Robinson who has been working in the iGaming industry since the late 90s. One of his first business experiments was with the New Tech Media company, which was later merged with Orbis to create the one and only Openbet, one of the top betting brands in the world.
But surely Mr Robinson couldn’t have made it on his own. The rest of the BTG management team is also worth mentioning. Its CTO is Huw Mcintosh, he is also named the company’s co-founder. Mr. Mcintosh’s experience in gambling is truly impressive. He has been working alongside Nik Robinson for over 18 years, starting together on New Tech Media and continuing their collaboration into Openbet. And the third most important guy in the team is BTG’s creative director, Ian Schmidt. He has worked as an artist on quite a few AAA games before joining the BTG team.
What does BTG do? Well, mostly its slots powered by their unique Megaways™ engine. This technology they have mastered to a fine point, making it hard to compete with them, let alone beat them on their turf. Instead of competing, major players in the field prefer to partner with them. Thus, BTG is working in collaboration with such well-known and well-respected companies as NYX Interactive, OpenBet, Microgaming Viper, Microgaming Quickfire, Leander and many more.
BTG’s headquarters are situated in Sydney. Last year they celebrated their 10 years anniversary, and it’s hard to underestimate their achievements. As of today, their portfolio comprises over 40 titles, among which there are slots, card and board games. They have over 50 employees on staff. And apart from game developing and design, they do some charity. On their site, you can shop for your favorite BTG games’ official merch. All proceeds from the merch selling go to charity.
Games
BTG portfolio is anything but drab. It comprises a large variety of Megaways™ powered slot machines, as well as many card games, arcades and even some instant lottos. But the slots dominate this motley bunch. And it’s not only because of their unique engine but also thanks to their creative approach to themes and topics they use for their games.
Of course, gamblers appreciate vivid graphics, intricate storylines and great bonus features of their slots, and they get five-starred for all the above. Complaints are relatively rare, and usually they are about the newly released games, as well as some ongoing complaints about the lack of bingo in the array of the BTG machines.
Advantages
What are the BTG pros? There are many, but it would be logical to start with their best innovation, the Megaways™ engine for slots. They introduced it in 2015, and it’s basically a random reel modifier that changes the number of symbols per reel with every spin. BTG designed and launched five machines on the Megaways™ engine. In 2018, they sold the technology to Blueprint Gaming.
But BTG is not only Megaways™, as for regular slots they also have a lot to offer. The best thing about their slots is their high volatility. Experienced gamblers look for high wins, not frequent ones. The average RTP of BTG slots is about 96%, which is good, but there is more to it than just RTP. We all know that the more lines you play, the more you can get from a single spin. That’s when Megaways™ come in handy. This engine allows us to use not fixed, but a fluctuating number of symbols per reels and thus an almost endless number of lines.
So how is it good for us? That’s easy, we have a higher chance of hitting a winning combo or combos in one spin; we have a higher chance of getting some bonus features with scatters’ combo, and finally, the payout per line may reach up to x15k. Not every machine has this rate, but some titles offer such payouts per a single line win! And what makes it even better, such volatility is not an exclusive Megaways™ feature, it’s common to the rest of the slots as well.
Speaking of bonus features, BTG slots offer unique bonus opportunities. Not only can you hit a free spin session by getting a scatters’ combo, but some slots offer diversified scatters with letters on them. So when they form a certain word on the grid, it triggers the free spins!
You can play BTG games either on a laptop or on a cell, as they are built using HTML5. If you have never tried playing their slots, we encourage you to visit the BTG’s site for a demo spin. It’s free, but you need to sign in either with your Facebook or Google accounts. If you are worried about the language barrier, don’t be. Nothing is lost in translation, as the games are perfectly localized into over 20 languages.
License
When it comes to licensing, BTG has the perfect score. It is certified by the most hair-splitting authorities there are, like the one from the UK, Gibraltar, Alderney And British Columbia. BTG’s contribution to raising gambling awareness has been commended by the Responsible Gambling Trust, so their site holds its seal of approval.
