Rules of the Pirate 21
The absence of tens may look like a disadvantage to the player but there are a lot of additional rules that make up for this. And even make the game more profitable.
- If both a player and a dealer have 21 or Blackjack, a player will be the winner.
- In this version, you can double on any number of cards. But you still will get only 1 extra hit after doubling.
- Pirate 21 allows you to split Aces. And afterwards, you can double down or split your cards on hand as usual.
Here you have different pay rates. It depends on which number of cards got you to 21 points.
Dealer has to draw at least soft 17. If he has less, then he has to get more cards until he gets to the required number of points or higher. So, there is a fair chance that the dealer will exceed the number 21 and the player will win the draw.
If you got a combo of 6, 7, and 8 or 3 cards of 7, check out the pay table. There will be different rates depending on the suits of cards. But be aware that these combos won`t count after doubling.
So as you can see a lot of these additional rules add some chances to win for the player.
Advantages and special features
The first thing that is worth mentioning is a little side game that you can play with each hand that is called Mach Side Bet.
Match Side Bet
You can place an additional bet to the circle with Jolly Roger if you think that with the first draw both you and the dealer will get a card of the same value. There are also different rates depending on the suits of the cards. If your card`s suit doesn`t match the suit of the dealer`s card, you`ll get a 4:1 pay rate. But if the suits do match, your rate will be 9:1. The max bet here is 25 credits and the minimal is 0,01, although there is no such chip so you can bet 1 credit min.
Another thing that you should know about is that almost all the games from the BetSoft company have a demo mode. You can check Pirate 21 out without any risks of losing your money. Especially if you`ve never played this card game before we recommend getting acquainted with it in a trial mode to get the hang of its rules before playing with real money.
You can play Pirate 21 for free in any casino that has it or at the official website of the provider. You won`t need a registration or a verification to do so.
The only con that we can point out is that this game may seem not very beginner-friendly. If you`ve never tried to play classic blackjack all these rules and additions to them may be too much for you. But if you do have at least minimal experience with card games this version can add some richness to the usual gambling process.
